Dang, that's a lot of sources! Newcomer Daybreaker sends us a lovely solo piano Zelda arrangement that incorporates a BUNCH of tunes in a tiny 2'31" package while avoiding medleyitis. How/why did she do it? Let's see:
"This started out as a remix of the Song of Healing only. Feedback indicated that it was too conservative, so I was trying to switch it up a bit when I realized I could put the Song of Storms on top of the Song of Healing chords, and the Bolero of Fire fit in nicely. My little brother found this amusing, so I smashed as many songs as I could in the Song of Healing to make him laugh. I decided some of it had potential, so after many adjustments, here it is, with thanks to Rozovian, who was kind enough to render it for me. As for the title, while I play the newer Legend of Zelda games, I miss the ocarina. This song includes most of my favorite ocarina songs and brings back fond memories."
For the record, we do NOT advise "smashing as many songs" as you can into a ReMix as a particularly sound methodology for getting posted OR honoring the depth of the original compositions, BUT... making your little brother laugh = priceless, PLUS the artist did a good job realizing the potential of her insane mashup and refining it into something whole. Deia writes:
"I have to admit when I saw this submission I was worried. Very worried. Especially reading the line, 'My little brother found this amusing, so I smashed as many songs as I could in the Song of Healing to make him laugh.' So, I can say that I was surprised when I heard a pretty cohesive track that legitimately included the sources as mentioned... The piano playing is nice and emotive."
Thanks to Rozo for the piano rendering, which has clarity and presence. Vinnie was more hesitant but eventually echoed DA's conclusion:
"I don't think this goes as smoothly as it could have if it stuck to less sources, but I am impressed how many of the transitions sound natural. There are some cool volume and tempo changes to keep it interesting, gives it its own flow. Yeah, I guess I'm good with this. Most of it sticks to Song of Storms and Song of Healing, with the other songs thrown in as cameos. It felt like it had enough cohesiveness."
I tend to concur; this arrangement could have been more focused - and also, for that matter, extended - had it not been as promiscuous with multiple sources, but it also didn't seem to contract any serious diseases, so it's all good. A surprising piano arrangement & performance debut from Daybreaker; I'd definitely like to hear more, regardless of the number of themes referenced.

That's a lot of freakin' sources. 
But hey, being able to fit in so much while maintaining a
wonderful piano melody that sounds great, that's unreal and my
hat is off to you. Fantastic work.

This is awesome. I don't know most of these sources at all (you know, aside from Song of Storms and such), but it sounds like a cohesive song to me, so great job! =D

Normally I find piano solos rather dull, but this one is really amazing, cramming so much variety and emotion into such a short piece. Strong props, and I hope to hear more.

Finally! I remember finding this in the WiP-forum and being blown away, and since then I've had it on my phone listening to it now and then. This morning I had it set as my wake-up song, so I woke up very softly and nice. Then, when I sit down by the computer, what mix has finally been posted? This!
Great work again, Daybreaker, really hope you get your other stuff up here as well!

This actually sounds really approachable, and I'd like to learn to play it. To save me from notating it by ear, is the sheet music available?

I'll admit when I first saw all the source tracks on this remix I laughed a little and wondered how this could possibly work, this remix was a wonderful mix of each of those pieces mixing them together into a track that stands on its own. Fantastic job!

Oh does this create Nostalgia:cry:. True, Ocarina is now on the
3DS, and I have played Majora within the past year, but those
were the games. The Song of Storms, is, and always will be, my
favorite piece of game music of all time. Should this ever
change, may I be "Thunderstruck" 
. It does flow, it creates a unison of the melodies,
as the sages of old. The Song of Storms sticks out most to me,
just because I listen to it every other day. Keep on arranging,
do the justice that is deserved of the VGM.

beautiful piano solo, extremely impressive how well all the different themes are used in just 2:31. looking at the list of songs you'd expect medleyitis hell but it is cohesive and doesn't feel superfluous. song of storms is the only transition I wasn't totally keen on but it's a minor gripe, good to see more MM

An amazing first mix.
This solo piano performance actually captures the feeling i get when playing the majora's mask.
Which is a overwhelming feeling of both doom and sadness for the impending moon coming towards us.
The combination of all the different themes is actually incredible because of how seemless it was.
Great work there Daybreaker can't wait to hear many more mixes from you.
